PSR Mission Statement

St. Joseph Parish School of Religion (PSR) strives to assist parents in their role as the primary educators of the faith for their children by offering in-person and at-home formats which are enhanced by opportunities for prayer, service, and family socials. PSR seeks to evangelize and catechize the whole family, and equip parents with the tools and confidence to pass along the faith in the home.

Curriculum

We utilize the Word of Life curriculum for our 1st through 5th grade students, while middle school uses the Alive in Christ series. These curricula are designed to spiral from one year to the next, deeping the child’s understanding of faith topics as appropriate for their age. Preparation and celebration of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist typically occurs in the second grade. If your child is beyond second grade and has not received the Sacrament of Baptism, Reconciliation, or Eucharist please contact Emily to coordinate sacramental preparation.

Confirmation preparation is available for students entering 7th and 8th grade! In addition to receiving Religious Education through PSR, those seeking to be Confirmed will be placed in a small group that meets periodically through the school year to focus on service, prayer, and immediate Confirmation preparation.
